Last night my blood sugar dropped to 3.5 and I decided it was best not to go to gym (besides the fact that it was cold lol). However, the late evening it went up to 16.9!!! I obviously received tons of high alerts and high predictors but despite giving insulin (several units at different intervals) it just didn't want to come down!
At times like these there are several things that I usually consider (whether I do then or not is a different question entirely):
I tested again this morning and it was down to 10.5 and I gave insulin with my pump. My pump was also giving low reservoir alerts but I was aiming to replace it this morning anyway. So I gave more insulin and lo and behold my blood sugars started coming down. Now, why didn't it do that last night?? I still don't know why it didn't go down from the amount of insulin I was giving (because it should have). After years of diabetes I've learnt to accept that there are just some things I can not control OR UNDERSTAND! Prof Bonnici keeps reminding me that unless it's consistently high I shouldn't stress out about it too much.
Now with a new catheter site and newly filled reservoir my blood sugar readings are within my target range :) All in a day's work or rather I should be saying - all in night and day's work lol At least I haven't lost my sense of humour, it was touch and go for a while though lol

- Test with my glucose meter to ensure that my pump is correct;
- Give more insulin;
- Give an insulin injection or
- Change my catheter spot (sometimes this is really a problem).
